Adoption permanently transfers the parental rights and responsibilities of natural parents over to adoptive parents.
On 1 July 2019, delivery of adoption services transferred from the Department of Health and Human Service to the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Adoption services are delivered directly by Adoption Victoria within the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

- Information about past adoptions
- Considering adoption for your child.
Permanent care
