Victorian concessions and allowances portal

You can apply online for your non-mains concessions with the Victorian Concessions and Allowances portal.

What can I do in the Victorian Concessions and Allowances portal?

In the portal, you can: 

  • apply securely and quickly for a concession (for 2024 onwards)
  • track your application
  • see your application history (for applications made in the portal)
  • see payment summaries.

How do I access the portal?

To access the portal, please follow these steps: 

  1. Go to myGov
  2. If you have a myGov account, sign in. 
  3. If you do not have a myGov account, create a myGov account and sign in.
  4. Link the Victorian Concessions and Allowances service to your myGov account. For detailed steps on how to link services, visit the Link services to your account webpage
  5. Click on ‘Victorian Concessions and Allowances’ to open the portal.
  6. You will be asked if you have received a one-time code from the department.
    • If you have received a concession from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing before, we will send you a one-time code.
      You will need this code the first time you use the portal. If you do not have this code, you can call the Concessions Information Line (toll free) on 1800 658 521.
      Enter your code when prompted and complete your first name, last name and concession card number.
      When you access the portal, your profile details will be pre-filled. Please confirm they are correct.
    • If you have not received a concession from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing before, you do not need a code.
      Select ‘No’ to continue to the Victorian Concessions and Allowances portal homepage. 

How do I use the portal?

To make an application:

  1. Click the ‘Start Application’ button.
  2. Complete the mandatory fields. 
  3. Upload the requested documents (for example, your invoices or statutory declaration). 
  4. Click ‘Submit’. 

Under the ‘My Concession Applications’ button, you can view draft, in progress and completed applications.

  • To continue a saved draft, click on the pencil icon on the right.
  • To see the status of an application, check in the status column.

Under the ‘My Profile’ button, you can view and update your details, such as address and bank account information.

  • Frequently asked questions

    How do I get my one-time code?

    Only existing concessions applicants will need a one-time code. You will get a letter from the department with your code. If you have not received your letter, you can call the Concessions Information Line (toll free) on 1800 658 521.

    To protect your details, your one-time code can only be used for a limited time. If your one-time code has expired, call the Concessions Information Line on 1800 658 521 for a new code.

    Why do I have to use myGov?

    myGov provides a simple and secure way to access government services online in one place. Using myGov means you don’t need to set up separate passwords for each government system, and no one else can access your information. 

    Can I still use a paper form?

    If you prefer to use a paper application for this concession round, you can download forms from the concession webpages listed at the top of this page, they may also be available from LPG suppliers, local councils and caravan park proprietors. 

    My information in the portal is incorrect. How do I fix it? 

    You can update your personal information, including your banking information. Log into the portal and go to My Profile to check your details.

    How do I create a myGov account? 

    You’ll need your own email address or a Digital ID. Follow these steps to create an account with an email address: 

    1. Go to myGov and choose ‘Create account’. 
    2. Choose ‘Continue with email’ and agree to the terms of use and privacy notice. 
    3. Enter your email address. The same email can’t be used for 2 myGov accounts. If you share an email address with someone, only one of you can use it to create a myGov account. 
    4. You will receive a code to your email. Enter your mobile number and enter the code you receive. If you don’t have a mobile phone or mobile reception, skip this step. 
    5. Enter and re-enter a password. It must have at least 10 characters and include at least one letter and one number. Passwords are case sensitive, can have spaces and include any of the following special characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * 
    6. Choose 3 secret questions and answers or write your own. Answers aren’t case sensitive. 
    7. You’ve created a myGov account!

    I’m having trouble using myGov. How can I get help?

    If you need help using myGov or signing in to myGov, call 132 307 and choose Option 1 for the MyGov helpdesk. The helpdesk operates from: 

    • Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 10:00 pm
    • Saturday to Sunday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
