Victorians on low incomes can access a variety of benefits to help with the cost of education for themselves and their children.

Other agencies offer a variety of benefits to eligible cardholders to assist low-income Victorians with education bills. If you have a relevant concession card, you may be eligible for one of these benefits:

  • Kindergarten - Victoria's kindergarten programs give children from low-income families an opportunity to attend kindergarten for free or at a low cost

  • Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund  - this fund means no Victorian student need miss out on attending school camps or excursions

  • Centre for Adult Education (CAE) fees - whether you are interested in full-time study or attending a short course, concessions on course fees are available from CAE

  • Conveyance allowance - this allowance is for students who live more than 4.8 km from the nearest school and do not have access to the free school bus service

  • Technical and Further Education (TAFE) fees - you may be entitled to a concession on enrolment fees for TAFE if you hold a valid concession card.
