A young person using violence against a parent or carer and whose behaviour is likely to continue should be referred to the Adolescent family violence program.
Adolescent family violence service aims to reduce family violence and increase the safety of all impacted family members through the provision of a family-based case management and group-based support to young people using violence against a parent or carer.
The target group for the program is young people aged between 12 and 17 years of age and their families living within each designated program catchment area. Within this target group, priority of access is given to Aboriginal families, families being parented by a sole female parent/carer and families where the adolescent has younger siblings.
Referrals to this program can be made by contacting providers of this program listed in the Contacts sidebar on this page.
